Emptiness...

"Empty = Opportunity"
-Cyrano de Bergerac
          As adorable as Aslan might be in the previous post, I'm fairly certain you've enjoyed him long enough. Like this blog, Emptiness seems to be the case lately. Recently my computer's hard drive bit the dust. It was quite terrible. Anything and everything was lost. (Not really THAT much, but enough.) I need to start investing more time to do a routine back up. In the digital world, anything and everything can disappear in a flash. I know all too well that problem. Anyways, I'm pretty sure most of my summer has gone to the grave along with that hard drive. Luckily, my computer is still under warranty, so Dell sent me a new hard drive, but it is empty.

           When my best friend decided to describe the new state of my computer, she said, "It was in a coma and forgot all about me." That it did! It's so odd. It's so empty. While doing my best to stay positive about the situation, I wrote an accomplishment on LifeKraze (I will explain this magical, motivational portal soon). One of the most active users, Cyrano de Bergerac, posted a comment on my accomplishment saying, "Empty = Opportunity." I'm, obviously, a fan of what she had to say about it. It's so true though! Yes, it is absolutely terrible everything is gone, but now I can fill the space with new opportunities and adventures just like I can fill the emptiness of this blog. Who knows what will come from the emptiness that so plainly lies before all to see! Only time will tell!

Until next time, try to look at every ending of an adventure, good or bad, as the start of a new opportunity to do better than the last.

It's that time of year again...

It's that time of year again...

to start school! Most would say, "Blekk! Where'd summer go? Why'd it have to end?" I, too, ask, "Where did summer go?" but I'm not terribly sad it ended! In more ways than not, I was busier during the summer than I ever am during the school year! Weird, I know, but it happens. I enjoy being busy!

So school has started! Today I began my second year of classes at our local community college. I love that place. I really can't figure out why I do, but I do. I just take a deep breath every time I'm there and soak it all in. It, of course, being the ever present fumes which cometh from the people and the college itself. HA. Ew. No. There's just a certain feel to the air as you breath it. It's the feeling of excitement from the fact that so many people are all there for the same purpose; to earn a degree, to gain more knowledge(after all isn't that why we go to college? haha. Something like that, I suppose).

This semester is super different for me! Not only am I working about 17 hours a week, I also have 17 credit hours for school. Coming from the not-so-stressful-and-hardcore schooling that was my homeschooling experience, this seems like quite a load! My previous semesters at the college did not surpass 12 credit hours. Am I fearful for the work that lies ahead?? Of course not! Well, maybe ever-so slightly, but it's a new adventure. That slight fearful unknowingness comes with the position. It's a new, exciting challenge that I can't wait to face, and, hopefully, conquer! *puts on that cheesy, football-like game face(You know, the black paint and tough looking facial expression).*

Until next time...   Enjoy this extremely handsome cat of mine and his ponder-filled, light-stricken, majestic(his name is Aslan after all) face!

(p.s. I'm curious about your take on this time of year when school rolls in! Do you like it? Hate it? If you're not currently in school, how do you feel about the constant advertising for "back to school" supplies?? Do you wish you could still fit in those cute "kid" clothes?? You don't have to answer those. You could always share your past experiences. That'd be cool!)
